Short Description: 

The Six Putti (Cherubs) Fountain is located at the east entrance. the Portal de l'Angel, of the Plaça de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain.



Long Description:

The Six Putti Fountain is a 3.90 by 23.20 by 8.16 meter bronze and stone fountain created by Jaume Otero in 1926 in collaboration with Miguel Paredes. The bronze putti figures were cast at the Bechini Gabriel Foundry in Barcelona.

At the west end of the fountain is rectangular wall with arched openings on either side of a central sculpture of two intertwined dolphins within a scallop shell. Water flows from the mouths of the dolphins into smaller half oval basin. It then overflows into a much larger oval basin. The fountain contains bronze sculptures of six putti, hence its name. Two putti, holding fruit baskets, occupy the spaces under the arches and four putti are located at the junction of the smaller basin and the larger basin.

  1. I and my friends have made a list for things to do in Placa de Catalunya so that this time when we travel we do not need to waste our time in searching for good places to go, this time we will just utilize our time.
