Long Description:
The Fort Fincastle Water Tower was declared a water landmark on May 3, 1993. A sign next to the tower is inscribed:
Bahamas Historical Site
The Water Tower
This tower was constructed in 1928 of reinforced concrete
to supply water to the City of Nassau. The tower is 126 feet high and it
rises 216 feet above sea level. Atop the tower is a revolving white and
green light visible to ships 20 miles out to sea. The tower is open to
the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week.
